“It takes a village to raise a child.” Community is at the heart of everything we do. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we create meaningful connections that extend beyond the classroom.
From welcoming families into our centres for special events and celebrations, to engaging with local schools, businesses, and community organisations through our Community Connections Program, we help children build a strong sense of belonging and understanding of the world around them. Because learning is richer when it’s shared 🤍
A day full of discovery, creativity and joyful learning at our St Kilda centre 🌿
From a calm start with indoor and outdoor play, our toddlers explored their growing interest in puzzles—matching, stacking, and of course, knocking down towers with excitement! Group time was a highlight, filled with familiar songs, movement and storytelling. Colorful Fish sparked wonderful conversations around sea life, emotions and colours, encouraging curiosity and connection. Outdoor play brought even more adventure, with sandpit fun, climbing, and a collaborative leaf hunt—where children worked together to create a beautiful collage while exploring different shades of green. The day finished with creative expression as the children painted Easter egg baskets, building excitement for the upcoming celebrations 🐣 A beautiful day of learning through play, connection, and creativity 🤍
Our children enjoyed a very special hands-on learning experience through our Henny Penny program. From watching eggs hatch into chicks to helping care for them each day, the children showed incredible curiosity, responsibility, and kindness 💛
Taking turns feeding, observing, and gently handling the chicks (along with caring for our turtle and fish) supported their understanding of life cycles while encouraging empathy and respect for living things.
It was wonderful to see all age groups, from babies to kinders, engage so thoughtfully—sharing in the excitement, discovery, and plenty of cuddles along the way 🐥✨
A truly meaningful experience that brought learning to life!
January is always filled with excitement as our team of educators and teachers prepare for another year of fun-filled learning and development opportunities. As our new families commence and our current families return from a well-earned break, we often get asked "what do I pack" for childcare or kindergarten. Here's a helpful reminder 😀. ... 🥁🪘🕯️Day: 4 of National Children's Week - 'The right to speak' 🕯️🪘🥁 Today, we invited the children to take part in a special Show and Tell, and since we were lucky to have Joe the Drummer visit, we asked everyone to bring in something musical to share! We started the morning with a very musical Show and Tell, with many children bringing in their fun instruments. We had lots of xylophones, tambourines, a flute, drums, clap sticks, guitars, and even the world’s smallest maracas! The children were so proud to show and talk about their instruments! For those who didn’t bring one, we had plenty to share around the room, including extra maracas, bells, and guitars. We also continued our Diwali celebrations today, with our educator V doing beautiful henna designs for some of the children. It was such a special experience, the children were fascinated watching the designs being drawn and proudly showed off their hands afterward! ... See MoreSee Less
🎨🖌️Day: 3 of National Children's Week - 'The right to identity' On Wednesday at Little Patch ELC, we explored 'the right to identity' with a colourful face painting session! This was definitely the highlight of the day, as the children had been eagerly awaiting for the face painter's arrival. When she finally came in, many asked, “Are you a teacher?” and giggled with excitement when she replied, “No, I’m the face painter!” Once their faces were painted, the children couldn’t wait to see themselves in the mirror and have their photos taken. The room was filled with big smiles and cheerful giggles all around! ... See MoreSee Less
👩🎤🤪✨Day: 2 of National Children's Week - 'The Right to Play' ✨🤪👩🎤 On Tuesday, we explored 'the right to play' at Little Patch ELC with a crazy hair day! The environment was bursting with colour and creativity as children arrived with their wild, bright, and funky hairstyles. For those who didn’t come with crazy hair? no worries! the team came to the rescue with a table full of colourful supplies such as ribbons, sprays, clips, and glitter so everyone could join in the fun and design their own unique crazy look right here at Little Patch. ... 🐮🐑🐖Day: 1 of National Children's Week - 'the right to discover'🐖🐑🐮 At Little Patch ELC, we kicked off National children's week with a fun and engaging animal farm! Some children were excited upon seeing the animals and each had the opportunity to have their own special experience with them, while others were more skeptical. However, given the 'right to discover' at their own pace, it didn't take long for most children to gain the confidence to interact with their furry, fluffy, and feathered friends. ...
